Asylum seekers & refugees

Asylum seekers and refugees constitute a unique yet equally affected group within the context of migration and development. Unfortunately, in their home and host countries, asylum seekers and refugees frequently find themselves in a position in which they are unable to develop their full human potential: one the one hand they often have had no chance to prepare for their migratory move, on the other, administrative and other challenges in the host country often create obstacles to the full enjoyment socio-economic rights. Nonetheless, asylum seekers and refugees play an important role in social, cultural and economic development.
