In the context of migration-related development, a myriad of civil society organisations - including NGOs, migrant, diaspora and labour organisations - are dedicated to capacity building, skills and livelihood training, voluntary return and reintegration programming, co-development opportunities, remittances and reinvestment, as well as the full range of community building and other more traditional development projects. Within this work, there is an unequivocal commitment to address the root causes of migration and, in particular, the factors that not only "push" but compel people to migrate, often under life-threatening conditions that compromise the dignity of the human person. The dedication of civil society actors in these areas is not only concrete, but also visible and measurable; the work is well-documented in reports to donors and partners, in academic research, position papers, conference documents, advocacy materials and compilations of migrant experiences.
